Can I use Open Goaaal! for team training sessions?
No, and Yes, is the answer!
The reason that Open Goaaal! works so effectively is because the net is tensioned between the 2 poles.
Therefore the 2 poles have to be inserted in sockets in the ground and supported by guy ropes. And the net needs pegging to the ground.
This usually takes about an hour, and so is something you will only want to do once. Which is why it’s fine for home garden use, but not really for a public space.
However if you have a secure training environment where you can leave it in situ, then you might consider using it. You can also raise the net off the ground between sessions to mow the grass or avoid foxes damaging it.
Please note however; that one of the guy ropes at each end encroaches in front of the goal-line and onto the playing area. This makes it a trip hazard and so we recommend that it is used for shooting practice rather than game-play.
Please also note that the pegs and sockets are not designed to be easily removed; and taking out and storing the poles and net between sessions will likely cause mix up of the netting and difficulty re-building quickly. So it's definitely best left in situ.
